Iona graduated from university in 2012 with a BA in Commercial Law. Since then she has spent almost 10 years in legal practice in both London and the North East, starting in a small London firm as the first point of contact with clients. Over time, she has progressed to taking on her own caseload of contentious and non-contentious files, at the peak she was responsible for over 100 cases.
Since joining Gibson & Co. in 2022, Iona has taken a keen interest in contractual disputes as well as landlord and tenant issues, she hopes to develop her client base in these areas in the coming years.
She works alongside more senior colleagues on a number of matters, the most noteworthy being:
- Acting for a landlord in a contentious and long running dispute with their tenant
- Mediating a dispute between a large housing association and its employee which was both high value and high profile
- High value work relating to unpaid fees for a firm of solicitors specialising in family law
- Acting in a high value banking dispute with international parties
Outside work she enjoys working in her garden and spending time with her family.
